Fats was my introduction to boogie based rock on the piano. My older sister had his 45's. I listened to the B sides mostly. She to the A side hits.

Oh well, that's spoiled my day. :( I loved Fats. Only saw him once, but damn he was good! I remember seeing him on TV being rescued after Katrina.

Not many of the originals left now - is it just Jerry Lee?

Yes of course he is. Good! I was 4 when my Mum bought me an ex-juke box 45 of Bama Lama Bama Loo. One of the more valuable parts of my education....

My grandfather used to sing Fats songs, among others, in the 50s when I was a kid. I grew up on all this music.

    We owe much to Fats.

:( ... I saw him perform in a hotel dining room paying a piano . Fats had a one carrot diamond stick pin in his tie for each of his #1 hits ~ He just blew everyone away ... bigtime .

Love this clip - imagine having Fats say to you "You got it man!"

One of the earliest songs I remember was Blueberry Hill. Probably because that was the song Richie Cunningham always sung on Happy Days. I loved it.
