The movie that almost ended up killing Melanie Griffith. Some of you might have seen this movie when it came out 1981, for me it was a first. It's not a documentary but rather a movie with a plot although it plays out very weird and realistic because the reactions are real, because it involves 150 untrained Lions, Tigers, Leopards, Jaguars, Elephants and well.....you name it. Also a whole cast and crew of people unqualified to work with these animals, they had two people only who were trained to work with tigers.

It's absolutely mental that anyone would back up and fund a movie like this and really surprising that no one died. One cinematographer was scalped by a lion and needed 200 stitches!!!

Melanie's face after the lion attack.

How does a company get the license and insurance to make a film like that? It’s nothing more than insanity!

Haha I guess we can blame it on the drug haze of the 70s. Everyone was out of their mind.

I had a look at some of the reports on t’nternet, and the “ producers, directors et al” must have been on something more than drugs! One of the stars injured was the daughter of the films director.

Yeah that's Melanie Griffith, the girl with bloody face in the picture I posted, that's her. The guys entire family was casted in the movie not just her. Tippi Hedren is his actual wife and she is also in the movie, especially in the scene where Melanie gets attacked by that lion. You can actually hear Melanie screaming Noel Noel Noel, which is her dad Noel Marshall. He's standing by filming and he just won't say cut!! And stop it he keeps it rolling. The guy was mental

Tippi has actually been in a couple of Alfred Hitchcock movies. And after the lion attack and Melanie getting stitches and facial recover surgeries, Noel convinced her to come back.:eek:

It's absolutely a miracle that no one died, out of 70+ people who got injured no one died.

Searching through inflation calculator 17 mil from 1981 is worth 47,983,575.36 $ today in 2019.

:Dhaha that's like the budget of one of Christopher Nolans movies like The Prestige or Insomnia. :D:D

Yea, this movie makes me feel sick. I watched a bit of it once but it’s just a train wreck. Especially knowing the backstory.
