Ryan Reynolds hired Monica Ruiz (the Peloton wife) for his new Gin commercial

It might be his best work since Deadpool.....

My niece is laughing right now, that you guys will have "absolutely no idea who the Peloton Wife is!"

Peloton made a super sexist Christmas commercial where a husband buys his skinny wife an exercise bike, and she's super nervous about being able to wake up early and stay in shape for him.

Even funnier, this commercial was on this morning, so Peloton has not even been smart enough to pull it (their stock dropped 1.5 billion in 3 days from the backlash).

I only know about this because we ran a spot on the backlash on the Today show. Otherwise I would not have gotten that commercial

You know any husband who bought one for their wife this year is scrambling to return it and find another gift right now.

This ad was weak...the guy should put a rock(an actual rock) in a box and give it to his fiance....she opens its all excited and starts cursing when she sees a dirty rock inside:

"Are you serious right now? This isnt funny i deserve a diamond ring "
"And i deserve a woman with a waist"

    Peloton:D

I don’t get the backlash. Nowhere in the spot is it said or even implied that the guy bought it for her to lose weight or to “stay in shape for him.” Can’t a skinny woman have a goal of staying in good shape? It’s just a lame commercial. People need to stop finding an affront in everything.

I think it's more about the look of panicked terror in her eyes as she knocks herself out on the bike over the course of the year. And her fidgeting flop sweat as she she shows the videos to her husband.

Someone had noted, "watch the commercial with the sound off, and you get a totally different message."

I most annoyed that she apparently took a year's worth of selfie videos. But really, if you buy an overpriced lifestyle item and you DON'T post about it across all forms of social media, did it even really exist at all?

It was just a lame attempt to reflect the vlogger culture.

    That's where I'm at also.
The peloton husband wasn't like.... "hey, babe, you better hit this exercise bike "
My wife would love one of them. She is skinny.
A girl I know at work is thin as a rail. She says she does the treadmill for 40 minutes every morning.
Some people just want to exercise. It makes them feel good. It keeps them in shape.
Now if my wife were to buy me a peloton, I'd be offended.
She'd be right, but I'd be offended

HHmmm... I gave my wife an exercise bike for her birthday. Maybe that explains the four cases of food poisoning I've had since April... and that chair that somehow fell from the roof next to me.

    Bingo.
    She's fit.
She obviously takes care of herself... unlike the people who are likely offended by the ad.
Perhaps they live in a part of the country where the weather does not always allow for a daily run/ride?
Sure, there are cheaper stationary bikes, but nobody on a Fender guitar forum should be pointing fingers at people spending their disposable income on luxury items.

Now those poor saps over on the Harley Benton forum... sure, they can point their fingers at people who buy Fords.....

The reaction is fabricated. There is nothing wrong with this otherwise boring commercial. The only folks outraged, haven't watched it. Anyone claiming this commercial has any issue that actually watched it, is disingenuous.

Next, we'll be shocked to find there are commercials about weight loss programs. And it will be declared sexist to offer weight loss programs, because its wrong to assume there is anything wrong with being overweight.

PS - I've lost 2 lb on a low carb diet btw, and saving nearly $75 a week by not eating out - yea!

Well according to Ryan Reynolds, this is his best/fav work since Deadpool. :)
Personally I thought his response ad to the peleton ad was great.
