Samick wound up owning Valley Arts for a few years there in the early 1990s - I think they provided some funding to the company then bought them out completely, so they gained access to the designs. I've seen a few of these, probably played a couple of them - but haven't seen one in person since the late 1990s.

I believe they represented the "top of the line" from Samick at that time - so it would be their best work, pickups, etc. for that early 1990s time frame.

Samick is a good sized company and makes a wide variety including pianos.
But they build to a price point. They can and do kick out some extremely high quality guitars, and they've put out a lot of plywood student models.

For $275? I'd seriously consider that if I were in the market.

One of the best playing, best sounding ES335's I have ever played was a Samick. The guy who owns it will never sell it. Dang it...

I first saw it a couple days ago. Googled the company and read about the history. Looked interesting. Seemed interesting...and seemed more than reasonably priced to me from other examples I found. I just might have to go and check it out.

    Thanks for the feedback @John C @CB91710 @Sarnodude
