    Just take some basic precautions. Ideally, the buyer collects from you and pays cash. Or, they pay upfront and you ship. If you think someone is suggesting a deal that might rip you off, just post what they're suggesting here, and a you'll get a ton of advice before you have to respond to your buyer. :)

    I've sold all over the world and I've never had money stolen from me.

    If your shipping the item just make sure any courier insurance offered covers guitars, a lot don't, some will only cover them when sent in a hard case.
    But generally @simoncroft is right, I have only lost one guitar (cheap one) in around 90 shipments and that was my own fault for not checking the insured items list.

    Me too. The only reason that it could happen to you, is if you don't take the proper precautions. So, fully acquaint yourself with those precautions.
