Anyone have any experiences they'd like to share? What's the verdict? What are your opinions on Schecter guitars

Schecter builds good guitars from what I have owned and played. Lots more bang for the buck. I’m a sucker for stainless and swamp ash . And the glow in the dark markers are better than do it yourself jobs. The other forums talk well of them quality wise.

Thanks for the input. I didn't think this thread was going to get anywhere. I'm considering one after years of avoiding them for no real reason

I’ve never payed one but they do tend to look nice and I never hear negative reviews about them.

What model are you looking at? I've owned dozens of Schecters.

    .

I haven't owned a Schecter, but I've owned plenty of MIK PRS SE guitars that came from the same factory Schecter and other brands like ESP-LTD, Chapman, Daisy Rock, and so on are made at. The factory does a good job with the guitars.

I played a 7 string Schecter for about a year.

Never figured out exactly what model it was, as it came in as a trade-in, but it had the sustainiac pickup system

    Great guitar

I gather the quality is good, but the specs have never done it for me. Usually big frets and flat radii.

I’ve only had one Schecter (made in Vietnam Damien 6). It had a hump in the neck that was irreparable so I got rid of it. I was told that the type of trees sourced for these entry to mid line guitars over over in Asia are quite young and can end up causing problems with some instruments while the vast majority end up being just fine.

Yes, the ones I've tried were too thin for me.

The quality is good; I have a Nick Johnston Traditional strat-style that I wound up picking over several Fender Player Strats (they are the same USA MAP price). Granted the neck is thinner than the Fender Player neck, but that is what I need at the moment.

I love Schecters. You can't go wrong with them imo.

I have had this one for about 2 weeks and it is a screamer. Solid build, great options and look. Only drawback for me so far is the locking nut height when playing one song I know and movement up the board in the riff. Bought it used in perfect condition. Based on this guitar I would buy another Schecter. Original price was $1,229 now at $859. Picked this one up with a form fitting flight case for $500.

How Thin are the necks? Like Ibanez Wizard thin? That might be a deal breaker for me
