The language you speak can affect things such as how you perceive time or even see color, which I find pretty mind-blowing.

I read where ancient Greeks had no word for blue. The ocean was 'black', etc. Different shades of 'blue'.

    Uh - that's creepy.

Denmark Is Building World’s First Artificial Island Full of Giant Wind Turbines

    denmark-artificial-energy-island-wind-energy-danish-energy-agency-1.jpg

Denmark will build the world’s first “energy island.” This 30-acre artificial island is built to accommodate a huge expansion to current wind production and is designed for future expansion.

Initial plans suggest that wind turbines will have a capacity of three gigawatts, about the amount of energy used by approximately three million European households.

I did that once. My friend Andrew and I were the photonics (light science) department at our university. We spent weeks designing and assembling a 5watt argon laser to bounce off the reflectors left on the moon by the Apollo missions...because.

We mapped and charted and calculated and measured and drank much beer in preparation for our big moment.

    And....
We missed. Hit Neptune who got really pissed and hired Mars to fu*k us up. And by us, I mean you guys.

    Any day now.

    We're sorry. I mean it.

    Now, excuse me...I'm outta here.
