Next time they can use the Gen II drone to blow their solar panels clean.
And once they have enough range, maybe Opportunity's panels too.
Of course by then it'll be a museum piece, completely obsolete.

Well... By the time Musk builds a museum, I'm sure one of the docents can brush the dust off :whistling::whistling::D

Is that actually painted/tiled that way or is that a photoshop?
If it's real, I'd like to see what it looks like from the far end.
Probably looks like two gentle rises rather than dips.

    I found a pic.

Not sure if you can access this video, but it shows time lapse of laying the tiles. The illusion is so good that it's hard to keep in mind that these are being applied to a flat surface.

Here's a 3d chalk painting of Mario from the intended viewing angle:

Here's what it looks like from the other side:

Here's a time-lapse of the artist creating it. Even after watching it dozens of times, there is a point in the video where I stop seeing in two dimensions and start seeing it in three:

That's way cool, and yes, it does invert from the other view.

I've seen some extremely elaborate chalk drawings over the years... some are simply huge, and yes, they only look correct from one angle, which is the case with many optical illusions (and magic tricks, including Chris Angel and David Blain "street" performances, but everyone on-camera is in on it.

    That tile is awesome!

That one was purpose built for outbound earthlings. I suppose it could be converted to a multi use facility.
