There's a Strat for sale in my area with a Z20XXXXX serial # . What year would this be? Not sure about anything after N9XXXXX . He's calling it a Texas Special Strat but have never heard of one.

I found the imformation I was looking for. But does $1200 CND ($900 US) seem reasonable? A new Player Strat would be more then that here.

Most likely a 2002
You can run the serial here

Its basically an American standard with factory texas special and different pickguard and back plate.
This series replaced the hot rodded series. That model used to the roadhouse strat.
Cool guitars.
I see alot of used gear sitting as of late with these higher prices. Ask the seller if he is willing to negotiate and make an offer if you don't like the price. I won't pay 900 USD but that's me.

Here are some specs from fuzzface

Z# was from 2000 to spring 2010 Corona
MZ# was from 2000 to Spring 2010 Ensenada
In 2010, they switched to "US##" and "MX##" and that has continued into the 2020 models.

Got any pics? Is it HSS? If so it may be American Fat Strat Texas Special which they made for 3 years 2000-2003. It'll have two Texas Specials and an custom SD Pearly Gates humbucker.

If that's what it is and it's pristine, $900 US is stone cold steal. I sold one a few months ago in very good condition with a hard case for $1300.

It's still part of the hot-rodded series produced from 2000-2003. Actual finish is Surf Pearl.

It's got HSH routing if you wanted to convert it to HSS. I'd get that SD Pearly Gates if you do. It's a great pickup and pairs well with the Tx Specials.

Here's full specs.
