Several years back, I suffered an injury that took me out of the game for a while. During that time I loaned, with serious emphasis on the word loaned, my son my Fender Bassman. While David Allen is more into building his own amps, than doing restorations, I talked him into renovating my '65 Bassman head. The work was beautiful. Now I want my Bassman back, but Son usually finds a way to forget about it. Strange because he's more of an Orange amp kind of guy, shredder, and Vai type guy. Should I, 1. Fly out, and have a couple of thugs bust his knees with a ball bat, and take it back. Or 2. Contact David Allen and see if he could build me a head that will capture the magic of an orgional Bassman, through 12" and 15" cabs? Buying an orginal head can be expensive, they are usually fragile, or have been hacked to death over the years, and would face another small fortune having them brought back to life. At this point I'm leaning toward going the Allen Amplification route, spend the money once and forget about it. Might mention that my son is at least 4 inches taller, has seriously no discernable body fat, and an avid weight lifter. So I might want to want to avoid any "threatening" tactics. unless being surrounded by a crazed bunch of Navy S.E.A.L's as back up. Would probably be the last amp I would ever buy.
