The idea of resetting clocks forward an hour in the spring and back an hour in the fall was first suggested by Benjamin Franklin in his essay "An Economical Project for Diminishing the Cost of Light," which was published in the Journal de Paris in April 1784.

Franklin's suggestion was largely overlooked until it was brought up again in 1907 by Englishman William Willett, who penned a pamphlet called "The Waste of Daylight." Although the British House of Commons rejected Willett's proposal to advance the clock one hour in the spring and back again in autumn in 1908, British Summer Time was introduced by the Parliament in 1916.

The name was taken to commemorate their win at the Carrera Pan American Sports car race. Nick Mason from Pink Floyd took place in the event and, the band wrote the score for a subsequent film made about the event?

In 1986 auto exec Lee Iacoca oversaw renovation of the Statue of Liberty.

I remember at the time they researched how to artificially age the copper panels. The best thing they found was horse urine.

Corned beef and cabbage is not a traditional Irish dish. Its an Irish-American dish.

The Irish emigrated during the 19 th century spurred by the potato famine, and were mostly subsistance farmers barely more than serfs tied to the land- owned by the landlord. They didn't have money for meat.

It was only after coming here, seeing thier Jewish neighbors eating brisket that they picked it up and incorporated it into thier diet.

The reason movie previews at the beginings of movies are called trailers is they used to be shown at the end of the movies. The audiences would be leaving and missing them so they started playing them before the movies.

Railroads used barcodes before then. I would buy that it was the 3D type scanner device we see at grocery stores for UPC/A.
