A Fender American Standard really IS worth 3.29 Squier Classic Vibes

    (Actually, I DON'T believe that, I would take the 3.29 Squiers, :D )

The biggest firestorm I ever caused on here was telling folks they shouldn't put open beverages on their amps/gear.

The bedroom players came out of the woodwork to complain that it's their right to do whatever they want with their amps.

    It didn't matter that I said shouldn't.

It's a strictly enforced rule for my band, though. I won't allow a gig to be ruined by stupidity.

It makes me cringe when people pay something like $1,000 for a NEW Strat, and immediately remove the pickups. If the stock pickups weren't your thing on that new guitar, why didn't you buy a DIFFERENT guitar?

I know, there's plenty of boutique pickups that need a good home.

Relic'd guitars are fake and only for posers.

Yeah.... I'm thinking about springing for one of these one day.

    Pun absolutely intended.

Well, if you can buy a guitar for $1000, pay $200 for pickups and get what you would have had to pay $1500 for, it makes sense.

Or, iuf you want pickups that aren't used in any stock guitar, you pretty much have no choice.

Not nearly as stupid as being someone that actually does plays up there but won't get a cutaway because he thinks it looks stupid.

They say that only the brave, the fearless, or fools would start a relic job.

Interesting, uses a MOD pad. As it is I changed out the accutronics pan that came with my '63 reissue unit for a replacement MOD two-spring unit and the result is pretty dramatic. A lot less noisy, the MOD pan is a keeper ..!

You can play any kind of music on any kind of guitar.

Learning a song note for note is usually a waste of time.

Long greasy hair and a smack habit is not a requirement for playing heavy rock

Yep. They sell two versions. The one I linked is an all-in-one box. There's also one with a control unit for your pedal board, and cables that run to the tank somewhere else (like the underside of your board.)
