I don't like singers who do nothing else except prance around...prance if you must, but, contribute instrumentally.

I can't stand Jimmy Page's guitar tone, he's the only person on Earth capable of taking a wonderful guitar and making it sound like cats mating.

Ever tried singing and doing anything more complicated than strumming chords at the same time? (you know, the type of strumming that works for Folk but won't work for anything that includes riffs or complicated grooves).

No...but, there are many who can. Two of my favorite singers, didn't play instruments in the band...but, there's no prancing.

And while I'm at it...Jeff Beck, leave the whammy bar alone or go back to your Les Paul, you make the strat sound like a nose whistle.

    Here's another one:
If you seriously say things like -
"All the kusic that comes out day is crap" or "current gear is not as good as what they made in the 50s" -
Then congratulations - you're no Rocker, you're part of what Rock N Roll rebelled against.

If I have to buy another guitar/bass I'll probably buy pieces and assemble/build it myself. I fortunately have the chance to access CNC and lathe without much problems... I have done this for my drumkit and I couldn't be happier of the results...!

Country music has a number of very talented song writers, especially Willie Nelson, who's writing skills are second to none, think "Crazy", "Blue", "Family Bible" and "Night Life"...and Dolly Parton is no slouch either for that matter.

It's difficult to most people. Even some famous guitarist-singers admit that they simplify things live or avoid doing both altogether. I'm in the BB King camp: don't fo both things in the same time...

I don't know if it's been said already (I'm not gonna sift through 50+ pages of replies)...

I think the stratacoustic is the ugliest guitar ever created.
The second ugliest is any acoustic with a strat headstock.

Whew... I had to get that off my chest.

This may be an issue that people have to learn for themselves.

A Strat can sound like a Les Paul, but a Les Paul will NEVER sound like a Strat.

For what is considered as Folk, good lyrics come before evrything...

Once again - no expert on Country music but from what I heard so far, you can't lump it all together. Brad Paisley's "Welcome to the Future" is one of the best songs I've heard recently (I know it came out ~10 years ago).
Even when Country songs fail miserably they at least try to say something...

I'll extrapolate upon this with my own (unpopular guitar) opinion:

The waveforms from a solid state amplifier are as close to sonically perfect as we can get, given that it reproduces every harmonic between the peaks and valleys. The reason that we desire tube sag is because it's the same brand of imperfect as our own guitar heroes. We've been trained, brainwashed even, that imperfect tone is desirable.

I’m not much of a kusic fan either.

Okay, I'm putting the crash helmet on for this one. Forget about guitar stores for this post...

When a guitar is sold by a guitar player it should not have an asking price higher than the seller would be willing to actually pay a guitar like that. You want a good deal and are not willing to treat others the same?

Please ignore this opinion if you're into buying or selling guitars like a small business. ;)
