I have seen pictures of some older Strats. One was Shell Pink and another one was Sonic Blue. I believe the Sonic Blue was a 1960's Strat. Anyway, do you know if these colors are still available? I would LOVE to get my mitts on a Shell pink and/or a Sonic blue Strat (with a maple neck)! Is it possible to get a new Strat in one of those colors?
Umm...basically no. Fender hasn't offered Shell Pink in about 10 years as a regular color, and I think Sonic Blue has been even longer. Fiesta Red is another one that Fender likes to keep close to their chest. Fender likes to hold out on the more desireable colors so that you can make a Custom Shop order.
If you're up for it, you could always buy a blank body, and finish it yourself with ReRanch products...? That's what I'm doing to get my Sonic Blue strat.
I finished my first DIY paintjob a little more than a month ago now in Shell Pink and it looks fantastic. It was a great experience. Buy yourself a blank body, a pack of sandpaper from Stew-Mac and some lacquer from ReRanch, it's not a bad investment!
Wildwood Guitars in CO. had sonic blue strats -w- maple necks and rw necks not long ago. I'm not sure if they still do. Rico

Did they ever really make the amp in custom colors like they show with the Shell Pink back in the pre CBS days? if so, I suspect they be rare, to say the least.
I really don't know. That one on the Wildwood site was the only Shell Pink Fender amp I've ever seen. I hope someone can enlighten us.
The German company ROCKINGER has a perfect Strat replica in sonic blue !!! Two friends of mine bought these guitars and they feel and sound PERFECT!!!
browse musician's friend. im pretty sure they got some sonic blue strats available right now. the yngwie malmsteen for sure. they did have the shell pink available for the 60s MIM strat up until not long ago. i believe if you talk to musicians friend they can special order you one cause i wanted the olympic white 60s strat that they discontinued also
Yeah the Malmsteen definitely comes in sonic blue, but it comes with a scalloped board and a brass nut which a lot of people don't like.
