    Take a deep breath....

then get your electric guitar, set up a very overdriven rock tone, and express your feelings. It'll help.

I accept that. Idiots can train to do a lot of highly paid work if they try hard enough. I've paid more than enough lawyers in that category. But the truly obnoxious behavior normally comes from two groups of people:

    1. People who just have no idea how to behave in general.
    2. People who think they have some sort of leverage over you, so they throw their weight around to get what they want.

Omar goes beast mode! You're just gonna bust up your knuckles and hands punching someone and that's not going to help with playing (unless like Johnny Winter you use your guitar instead to bash them). I used to feel that way until I realized that someone was probably looking at me and thinking I was an idiot while I was thinking the same about someone else. :whistling:

    Edit:

And I like the adage that 'life is like a dog sled race. If your not the lead dog, you're just looking at a bunch of...' idiots.

every now and then someone will come along and get you riled up the wrong way. It's life.

A lot of my job is fixing what idiots have created. The quickest way from point A to point B is a straight line. But they insist that you need to go to C, D, ask N, have it approve by committee RST and so on and so forth. Yeah, I would love to look them in the face and say, 'You are the reason why birth control was invented.' Over time I have learned to fight the battles I can win and give a wide berth to those I can't. When I do break, making firewood is great.

I think there's a lot of that going around. It's not a healthy trend.

Nothing worse than trying to explain anything to an idiot

I had a day like that on Wednesday last week. A repeat offender idiot. He’s one of those knuckleheads who’s his own worst enemy because he’s burning bridges with people who were looking out for him and he hasn’t a clue as to how stupid he actually is. Trouble is that I can’t bop him one in the nose because he’s in Monaco and I’m on the West Coast of Canada.

This guy was a long-term client who I’ve worked with for more than 20 years but he got demanding and rude out of the blue, two months after we had delivered a project and then he refused to pay the final invoice but couldn’t tell us what he wasn’t happy with. He’s an ex-President and CEO of a bunch of companies and I guess his power play is to refuse payment. As far as I can tell, everything is absolutely done to spec and the software we delivered is currently running fine.

Wednesday, I received an email asking (demanding) that we provide ongoing maintenance with the dangling promise of payment of the money we’ve been owed for 7 months. It took three drafts but finally I came up with a firm but almost polite email in which I reminded him that I fired him in February and that under no circumstances would I ever do any work for him or anyone connected to him again. That felt pretty good to get that reply off to him; as good as a punch in the nose.

Like @TremoloJoe says, they can’t drive you crazy if you take away the keys.

I get a kick out of conspiracy theory people.
There is not enough collective intelligence in the government to pull off half of the crap people claim.
It's not that the individuals are dumb... some are... but the lack of interdepartmental communication precludes any real progress.
I'm constantly having to deal with issues created by other departments, and re-do my own work to mitigate problems created by them... problems that would not exist had I known 3 months earlier about their project that they've known about for 3 years.

I might as well be from another planet
I'm so lucky/blessed/smart because I work alone , and sometimes the wife helps out. We work at home, and all our customers are either jewelry makers or metal artists (with a few other artists mixed in). I can't think of even a handful of people who I could seriously call a-holes; at least almost nobody ever acts like they are, to us. 32 years of dealing with creative, industrious, appreciative people. It doesn't even matter that probably some of them are nice because they have few or no other options to the service I provide. If they are 'holes, then the ones who are, are on their best behavior around us. I forget how good we have it sometimes. I'm nice to all them too, and it doesn't even seem like that much of a P.I.T.A. to explain technical details to noobs for the umpteen thousandth time.
I save my short-fusedness for the inanimate objects that populate the workshop, and things have been known to take flight now and then.:whistling:

Those people are the safe ones...
The people that are just intelligent enough to perceive their..
    Shortcomings...
    Are the dangerous ones...
They put in extra time overcoming and hiding their
    Shortcoming..
Quite often employing an almost snake like subterfuge...
