BRG is not metallic, though, right? I always think of classic Lotus and Jaguar race cars.

I think maybe yours is a Sherwood.
Unless it's just the light making it look metallic when really it isn't.

I thought the same thing of BRG. Like a rich pine green with no metallic

No, it’s definitely metallic. Maybe this photo will help you. And it’s definitely British Racing Green. Bought brand new from a shop with floor traveler included. “BRG”

Not mine anymore, but it was a loved one. I might order another one eventually.

Okay, according to what I could find out, here's what happened:

During the 1990s the Japanese made some runs of cars in metallic green and called the finish British Racing Green, even though it was rather different from the famous color of classic British race cars.

Since then, it has become more widely accepted that BRG can denote a lighter metallic finish as well as the traditional dark shade.

I'm not 100% sure the Brits have accepted this, but there it is.

The metallic one looks great on a guitar. I just wouldn't have called it BRG myself.

To be clear, I'm not saying that traditional British Racing Green is or isn't metallic. I, personally, could care less. Just saying that's what it's called, like Neil.C mentioned. I will say I prefer the metallic version much better :whistling:

Last Summer, I had been daydreaming on the Fender Mod shop site and configured a Sherwood Green Strat.

A week or so later I was fortunate enough to see the same spec-ed mod shop guitar on the Bay for a real decent price. And jumped on it.
Seller had just ordered in 2019, and had to sell.

With a C to D profile 9.5 rosewood neck, Alnico V’s SSS, Locking tuners,
Aged white plastic, mint green PG, chrome hardware.

Got it a few months ago.
Definitely been a solid and quality player so far.
    Have done some minor adjustments.
I blocked the tremolo, and did some light fret end dressing.

Sherwood is one of those colors that looks different in different light. I like the deep green that it appears outdoors..

That's absolutely gorgeous! To this day I regret dragging my heels on buying a Sherwood Green AVRI62 that I looked at and played for over 6 months at a local shop. Decided one night that I would buy it the next day, but someone else beat me to it by less than an hour.......still think about that strat......almost 20 years later......
