I'm a big fan of the natural wear and nitro finishes. Lets see some of your American vintage reissues. This is my 88' 57 reissue, with a 95' 57 pickguard and pickups. I saved the guitar from a dude who was trying to sell it in pieces. How are your guitars wearing? 58801984389__43C65123-E9CC-437C-B580-D253844F52B0.JPG IMG_0485.jpg IMG_0496.jpg IMG_0494.jpg

Very nice! The bottom one is like 'if you look at this picture long enough, you will see a guitar'.

nope, just the 30+ year old nitro. I heard a guy refer to his that was similarly aging as "waterfall" checking

I voted modern. My AVRI 62 hot rod has a 9.5" fbr and medium jumbo frets.

I voted "vintage spec", but I actually like both... Anyway, not an AVRI, but still vintage spec'd:

I recently had a post about my '54 and '56 AVRIs in another thread so I don't want to poo-poo my guitars all over these.

Those Hot Rods are the best of the lot in my opinion, and pretty getting hard to find. I had a chance to pick one up for a song a while back. I wanted it, but my pockets were.. lets just say.. empty!

I did think about not eating for a couple of months, but I didn't want to go down has a hot rodded dead man.. although it does have a nice ring to it.. ;):D

I must confess that I put a Fender AVRI ‘52 Hot Rod neck on my 2003 Fender AVRI ‘52 Telecaster and have no regrets...

It's interesting how many of us like nitro because of its more natural wear but most of these examples look pristine! I'm hoping my AV 56 wears nicely over time.
