this is a 1984 57 AVRI and it's awesome. I recently bought a new Fender Custom Shop strat and I had them put a Fender Modern C neck on it because it's the closest they have to this neck and its always been my favorite nothing even close.
favorite IMG_0561.jpg 57 AVRI neck. The neck and feel of this guitar has always been my favorite.

Here's mine. It's a 1986 AVRI '62. I got it cheaply ($600) with non-original pickups (Dimarzio Noiseless!). I got some pre 1998 era AVRI pickups that brought it back to stock. I regularly gig with it and currently have a hotter bridge PU for shows. Will always come back to stock when I stop playing out. Also had it refretted a couple years back. Have the Dunlop 6105 style on it now and it plays great. Like a new guitar.

    82 x 62 AVRI #V002504

    3 x Red Bobbin Pickups.

Normal color was Black. Reds, and Greys were also used, but no Red, or Grey have been found past #v008000.

I got it new. Mine also has a anomaly that a few came from the Factory with 2 String Trees.

I baby it. It only has a few nicks, and dings, and no body wear. The necks on thee guitars are Wide-1 11/16th, and very thin. .79 at nut thickness.

    I built a Partscaster and used 7-13-82 x 57 AVRI Body.

    Sorry for the bad pics.

Indeed so, it seems only 250 were made. I was looking for a roadhouse strat, but finding this seemed the best match, including color (tropical turquoise) which has been used only for those 250 models.
57/62 pups, 7.25" radius, 3 ply pick-guard, 3 positions switch, but came with a 5 position switch in the case. My best guitar from all I have or built. I would say the quality is very next to Custom Shop, if not the same, including fretwork and so on.

so here is an early 57 i traded for in the early 90’s, it had a primer finish when I got it, traded a pretty nice cherry deluxe LP for the ugly mutt strat with a peavey bassman clone, my friends thought i was crazy but the neck was so cool i had to have it, I had it refin to Mary Kaye see thru and went thru multi pickup changes thankfully they had stacked humbuckers;) If I had known what I known what I know now I wouldve tried to remove prior to get to what I believe was a CAR finish and saved the orig PU’s, at the end of day Ill never sell anyways and its always fun to pick up an play

My #1. 1990 ‘62 AVRI. Got her brand new in 1991 at House of Drums in Granada Hills, CA. Tried out a dozen or so Stratocasters that night. I didn't like the color (Ocean Turquoise - blech), but I kept coming back to her. Finally after 4 1/2 hrs of playing (til 9:45pm!) I brought her home. Been with me ever since. After 28 years of solid playing she finally got a refret. We've been through a lot together, so she's kinda like me. A little worn down, but we still have a song or two left in us!

Hat’s off to you for going past the color and recognizing it was your one. Kudos also to the store. They were patient!

I think the old American standard was the perfectly spec'd strat, there I said it!
