I love this paint job. I always make my paint jobs unique to the person or organization that I'm building them for. Making them personal is just cool and tons of fun but that is more personal than anything I've done thus far.

    Maybe...

    Not off hand.

This is more close up. The clear coat has yellowed. Gives it a greenish tint.

This is a 50s partscaster, the body was Candy-Apple Red when I got it, over a stripped sunburst (with a super amateur route under the pickguard.) Ash, of course. I wanted it to be more white-ish blonde, more Mary Kaye, but I brought it to a guy who did Rock Relic painting, he did the "blonde" and the relic chips, which I didn't actually ask for. Now it is sort of stupidly indistinguishable from a Custom Shop '56 Relic, which is not exactly where I thought it would end up. (Has a plastic pickguard on it now, by the way.)
Another odd thing is that the modern refin is so strong that the chips/relic bits are inert, that is, where a real old guitar might look like this, those chips would probably flake at the edges, and overall the paint might be lass static, but here, you couldn't, for example, increase the size of a scratched area with your fingernail at all. I think the finish, although just a “Refin” looks okay as is, it was done a long time ago and has aged naturally. Someone decided that a couple of humbuckers at the Neck and Bridge were a good idea, along with a Maple Cap, that dad a 12” radius and pearl dots. I’m looking for some Braz to do a “Slab” board, with original vintage spec wire and I’ll reinstate the cavities, matching them to the paint under the guard.
