Hey guys!! Been a long while and I hope that you are all doing well.

As I've stated before, I just have to stay away...this site induces life threatening GAS for me! Still working like crazy and never finding enough time to practice, but I sat down today and noodled around a bit and thought I would share what went down. As always, feel free to comment, boo, hiss or throw rotten fruit LOL.

This is my most recent attempt at channeling some SRV slow blues...probably a dab or 2 of Duarte in there as well...but mostly it's just me being repetitive and predictable but still loving every minute of it. Please excuse the horrendous guitar faces throughout.

    Hope you guys enjoy,

    Aaron

Hey Monkey! Good to see you back. I listened to about half of that (I'll check out the rest later) and that's a beautiful tone. It's got hints of SRV but I wouldn't call that derivative at all in both tone and playing. You sure do have an arsenal of good blues licks. A++ on the guitar faces. That was fun to listen to.

Been a while since I've seen you around, so good to know you're not only alive and kickin' but diggin' into that Strat of yours. Welcome back fella.:)

Now I'd like to deliver a short lecture on the nature and appropriateness of the 'guitar face'.

Brother Monkey is playing righteous blues, and he is feeling it. I can feel it, you can feel it, so it's great that we can see Monkey is totally feeling it too. Sadly, our Strat-Talk brother feels he should apologize for the fact we can see he's feeling it.

The weird thing is, some guitar players get paid a lot of money to play the blues. When they pull the same faces, we all think it's totally cool! I say: guitar faces are great, as long as you really mean it. :D

(But never, never video what happens when I use a wah pedal...)

There's a good reason I shoot myself from the neck down. I don't make faces as much as I "talk" when I play. Well, that and not to scare small children :D

    Thank you Mouse and Dude!

Blue, no that's my '62 Reissue...The MJT is leaning against the wall in the background.

LOL!!! Simon, that was great...thank you for your comment! It's just weird when I see myself on video...I'm like "damn, I really look like that while I play?" :-/

Good to see and hear you Aaron!

Hey, you could write a PhD. dissertation arguing that no blues player is truly original. What makes it for me is the note choices, a nice vibrato, and if the guy playing really means it- and you got all three in abundance, bro.
(P.S. I dig the Aeolian flavors in there.)

Man that was beautifully played... well seasoned phrasing and glorious tone.
Your guitar faces are very appropriate, and far more palatable than my expressionless drool.
