I have a MIM Strat, sn MZ2 (2002 I think) that has the stamped steel bridges with the screws protruding from the top. When I palm mute, the screws bother my hand. Is there a smooth top set of bridges that I can use like an the Americans with this MIM? Thanks
Callaham is a good place to start looking for a replacement tremelo. They are expensive, but the quality is so high you may think about trying one. You can see the bridge adjustment screws, but on this one they may not bother you. Callaham makes replacements specifically for some MIMs. http://www.callahamguitars.com/upgrades.htm On my AmStd Strat, the screws are lower than the bridge so they're not an issue, but I don't know if there is an AmStd tremelo available for the MIMs. Maybe Wilkinson has one at Stew-Mac. Be sure of your string and mounting screw measurements before buying a replacement. Good Luck, 62stratfan
