Well, it will pack the pounds on and the saturated fat will clog your arteries. Those might be considered side-effects.

But, it's not without redeeming qualities too.

I’m diabetic, so I usually pass on the sweets and ice cream. I am trying to wean myself off of soda pop.

Soda is a good one to quit then. 50g of sugar. Frozen yogurt selectively chosen at the supermarket isn't too bad if you need a treat once in a while.

I am weaning down, and trying to quit smoking as well. One vice at a time. I smoke about 5 cigs a day right now. I was at a pack a day last month. I just need to keep busy, then I don’t think about it.

Vanilla Bean is the good stuff! It seems like a good counter point to Rose. She is very hot, IMHO.

Oh its out of control! I rarely buy it as I nail the whole thing in 1 shot. I actually got it to put on top of hot apple pie. Well, that didn't happen ...

Thats a big difference, keep it up! I know very well how hard it is to quit smoking but in the end, there’s only benefits to it. You can do this:thumb:

Keeping busy is good. It helps to substitute something for the cigarettes. I used chocolate chip cookies. But it was when I was young and the calories and sugar and fats were meaningless.

You'll decide to stop one day. But there will definitely be moments when you'll want a cigarette. You can even get a heads up on figuring out those moments now so you're on alert for them once you quit. Then you can say to yourself "Oh, yeah... just had breakfast, getting my coffee, I expect a trigger-moment where I will want a cigarette in the next couple minutes. Be strong, it will pass". So you know in advance and shift your brain to positive motion instead of reactive "OMG, I so want a cigarette, I don't know if I can hold out".

But, I found that final quitting for me came down to deciding I was NOT a smoker. There are going to be moments for the rest of your life, even years later, that trigger the desire or "need" for a cigarette. In those moments you have to ask yourself "Am I a smoker, or not?". If you can't answer with a firm "I am not a smoker", you'll be smoking again.

Hang in there! I quit almost two months ago. I was a pack a day man. I use nicotine lozenges. Weaning off of them, but much better for my poor lungs. You can do it!
