You don't have to kid, Zep ripped off probably 60% of their catalog, and never credited the writers of any of them until taken to court.

I love Golden Earring's original but this is pretty awesome.

I actually haven't heard the original Al Green version of Take Me To The River, but The Talking Heads covered it, and then did yet another version on their Stop Making Sense tour:

Hard to beat Paul Rodgers with Jeff Beck at his side....

And I still like The Beatles version, but like this one a bit more. For other reasons. Probably because Warren's vocal sounds a bit like Dio at times.

The last song I ever played for my father. He was a huge Judy Garland fan

And that's your right and privilege!

But when Mick did the song originally they were not yet at the "fancy sports car through the south of France" phase.

I'll go along with the Steve Miller tune I never liked in the first place - but the Moody Blues plus a well arranged symphony orchestra = timeless classic and best version.

What makes it better is the life in his voice as he sings that song. That's a man staring down mortality and letting us know he screwed it up at times.

This one has to take the cake:

There’s been 1,000,000 covers of it, but has anyone even listened to Leonard Cohen’s version of Hallelujah???

Leonard Cohen is great. Mrs. C is a big fan so I to one of his shows a while back at the Garden. Was one of the best concerts i've ever been to.

Another vote for Bro. Iz cover of "Over the Rainbow", he was a big man with an even bigger heart.
I also prefer Nazareth"s cover of "Love Hurts", it seems like such a natural for them that I didn't realize that it was a cover of Roy Orbison"s song until I bought a Best of Roy Orbison CD.

This is my favorite version of After Midnight. I thought JJ's original and Eric's first remake were too frentic...

Im so tired by Fugazi is the original, but the cover by Jesse Stewart blows the original out of the water.

I love to play the Supreme's version, played it God knows how many times in a Soul band , great rhythmic guitar , but sheesh that Vanilla Fudge version is just SO different
