A dog-like robot named Spot has been deployed in Singapore's Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park to instruct people to socially distance. This video shows Spot in a pilot trial walking among somewhat alarmed park goers before telling them to maintain a safe distance. YOU HAVE 15 SECONDS TO COMPLY!

"The cameras, enabled by the government technology agency's video analytics, are used to help it estimate the number of visitors in the area. They will not, however, be able to identify or track specific individuals, nor collect any personal data." At this time.

    I don't understand but OK.

I thought it was interesting. This is the first I've seen a robot out in public doing something. What's next, driverless cars? Robot kitchen help?

I was in Singapore for business last year (and was supposed to return in Feb before the world went sideways). I guess I'm not surprised as they don't play around. Chewing gum for example can yield you a hefty fine and it's illegal for merchants to even sell it. A patrolling robot dog seems about right.

Well, I am not afraid of robots.
You can still kick their butt.
It is not a real watchdog.
    Humans are way more dangerous.

    All the best,
    Robin
