    Hi All,
I am not looking for anything else- no chorus, no phase shifting, just simple and realistic sounding spring reverb and I am particularly interested in the reverb pedals that tweed owners use (and like!).
Maybe that's a blasphemous desire, still, I occasionally need reverb.

I won't say price isn't a concern, because, frankly, it is, but I don't won't to blow cash on a sub-par disappointing unit.

I have tried several and found them too over the top and most, sans a blend control.
The EHX Holy Grail looks to be an option. Thoughts on this one?
    Purdy???
    Other suggestions?

A friend of mine has a 59ltd bassman. he has a Jrad (rockett pedals) Boing. that thing is one of the most convincing analog reverbs I have heard.

its a single knob, so nothing to mess about with. just reverb, to more reverb, to washed out surf and turf.

I have never found a need for verb with a 5e3. The pine cabinet and the construction of it provides an almost natural reverb. I do use a delay pedal for some ambience on certain songs though. If I was going to get a pedal for that amp it would be a Van Amps Sole Mate Jr for 100% sure.

Catalinbread Topanga...own it and it sounds better than most built-in amp reverbs.

I just watched a review of the Topanga. The reviewer loved it & compared it to three others (Fender '63, Boing, and Super something), but he loves srf music so only played them in that mode.
What type amp are you pairing it with?

    A Crate Vintage Club 20W 12" and modded Crate Vc508 w/8" Weber.

The Topanaga is very lush and authentic sounding. My Crate 12" comes with Accutronics spring reverb and I use my Topanaga instead.

I owned an EHX Cathedral and was disappointed with its size and controls.

The Topanga is also recommended to run on 18V supply

Mostly a Marshall so I know that doesn’t help much. But I also have a Princeton Reverb and I a/b’d the pedal with the real spring verb and it is very, very close.

Also not really using it for surf type reverb, I keep it pretty low

I've got a Holy Grail nano. I really love the spring and the flerb settings. Not so keen on the hall reverb.

I have the Vanamps Solemate. It is an actual spring reverb built into a pedal. It is SWEET with my Vintage 47 1955 Twin Supreme (see my avatar).

Plus it comes in tweed to match your amp!

My curiosity is piqued (although a little dampened by the price tag). So do you guys (including @Stratoskater ) put them in the back of the amp, or load it like a normal pedal?

EDIT: I found the answer to this question.

If I have to, I use a Boss '63 Fender Reverb pedal. I usually have a Boss Tremolo TR-2 on the board if needed.

    I have a 5e3 Deluxe clone
