    LOL!!!!!!!!
Aside from I'm not going to pay for CBS All Access just for one series, I thought the first one was just OK and didn't feel bad that I was going to miss the rest.

Orville? It's programmed on the DVR so if we aren't home Thursday night, or if either of us is out, it's recorded and we watch it together Saturday before Live PD.

My problem with Discovery is it completely breaks canon.
Enterprise explained the changes in the appearance of the Klingons in TOS vs TNG.
Yes, the hardware in Enterprise in some ways was more advanced-looking than TOS... but how do you make a Starship look 100 years earlier than the hospital-like sterile environment of TOS? The only way to look 100 years older than TOS would have been to film it in the ISS.
But they did a great job in making it feel older. They didn't go completely over the top with time travel and framed it well with the Temporal Cold War.

Discovery? Klingons even more extreme than TNG and the movies. Technology that didn't exist in TOS... Discovery would be a better fit for the Kelvin timeline where the updated set design can be explained that way. Heck, the Discovery bridge looks more advanced than 1701-D!

There was one that George appeared in.
Plot was he was pulled from the Enterprise (shuttle accident? I don't remember), spent many years on a planet, lost his wife, then was pulled back to the enterprise (as his current aged self).
They should have replaced the Enterprise crew. The acting was horrible, the "Spock" character looked nothing like Nimoy (and had the typical Vulcan wearing a Beatles wig look).
The story was good. George did a great job, as would be expected. The sets and filmography was awesome.
But the acting was like they grabbed 5 or 6 random people off the street outside of ComicCon.

That was the Cawley series, New Voyages. The episode was World Enough and Time. I never could take their Spock seriously.

Few things have permeated pop culture, and beyond, than Star Trek.

That's true, though at least they tried to explain the holographic communications system that it caused a ship-wide systems failure on the Enterprise, hence why they stopped using it. Seems a little lame though.. I think I heard they should be explaining more about the Klingons. I agree though, it's a little weird with canon. And it's one reason I don't really like the prequels much - Like you said, it's hard to make it look older these days, and it's easy to mess up canon. I often say one thing I'd like to see is something between TOS and TNG, but then that's also a "prequel" of sorts to TNG, and they might have some of the same issues with that.

Oh, I’m definitely not a good enough Star Trek fan to get this reference. Is that what he says in that episode cuz I forget. I’ve been exposed as a fraud!! :D

Yeoman Tonia Barrows, played by Emily Banks. Pretty much a one-off character, as she only appeared in the episode Shore Leave.
