If you want to get banned, you're going to have to try harder than that.
Ok then. A Welsh Witch.
Might help you're jonesin'...
I once had a coworker who's wife was very into Stevie Nicks. She once asked me if I could play any Stevie nicks songs on the guitar. I told her no, and I don't like her music.
She actually got mad, and left the room. She did not like me after that, and would never talk to me.
I really can't understand how someone can have their own personal identity so wrapped up in a celebrity that it actually affects them on a personal/social level that way.
I cannot understand it myself, but I have seen it with all sorts of celebs and fans.
To all guitar players that dislike the Nicks/Buckingham 70's Fleetwood Mac:
Unless you have been in a band that played any of their hits of time period well enough for the audience to like it, you have no right to say anything negative.
Goes for ABBA too.
Years ago, a friend of mine lived next to a self-proclaimed witch and warlock couple. Their back yard garden had a lot of thorny plants and a big pentagram sidewalk. Turns out the warlock died in a flash flood during some sort of ceremony in the wilderness. Hmmmm.
I don’t mind Nicks voice in context. Grace Slick said in an interview that she couldn’t sing, but that rock and roll allowed her to scream her songs.
i'll play bass , have i got the job ?
Oh, it’s going on right now in America. Nuff said
I like it a lot...
It's a good tune!
Stevie's really singing the lead on that one though, not backup.
And i noticed one weird thing about that video...
they actually show a backup vocalist briefly at around 2:15,
but then she disappears, and they dont even show her when there
are obviously female backing vocals ( the 'oooh oooh oooh's) going on.
She's pretty great, but the "singing with" award surely goes to Emmylou Harris. She even makes Beck sound good
She has done some great back up work. Love her...especially when she dresses like a witch.
Lindsey is a great guitarist. And songwriter. And producer. And singer.
I'll take his catalog over Peter Green's any day. Or Bob Welch.
