I put stickers on the little fridge in my music room
It's a big no for me...but that's just me.
To each there own
I hate the bloody things
On a guitar CASE... if every sticker has special meaning or is especially clever. On a guitar... ONLY if a great sticker and artistically placed so it enhances the appearance of the guitar. Not many people have that sense of design. Thing is on a guitar... if you play it like most people play it those stickers are going to get dinged, scraped and messed up. Then what do you have? A half-there, ripped up sticker.
So in general, no I'm not a big sticker fan. A possible exception: "My other guitar is a Strat too."
Similar to tattoos, I've never seen a sticker that inspired me to the point of wanting it on my guitar or case. I always felt it would come off as trite unless it had some deeper meaning.
As for others, it's your guitar so adorn it with whatever you like.
All subjective to the owner. I personally do not but if I did it would be the breast cancer pink ribbon and that’s a very personal reason. To me it’s kind of like tattoos. I think some look great, some you just gotta shake your head. Having said that there are some cool pictures posted.
Only on my Firebird case. The year I bought it, 2016, Gibson didn't offer a hardshell case with them. Which was idiotic. So, I had to buy an Epiphone case, and I covered the logo with stickers. And then some more stickers.
But, Gibson now has a relatively affordable case for the Firebird, and I'll probably replace this some day.
I have stickers on some of my guitars. IMO it takes all classyness out from them so I pick which ones carefully... This is called Odd Molly:
I put stickers on my '88 Am Std Tele when I bought it new at age 20. I was a young punk. Took some off and put others on etc, and it's remained in its current state (below) since 1992 or so. Occasionally I consider removing them, but I know I'd miss them when they're gone. They're a part of the guitar at this point. I do wonder whether the finish underneath them has gone unchanged and if they'd leave shadows if removed. Well, whoever gets this guitar after I croak will have to deal with it.
Like em on cases, but not so much on guitars. When I ‘twas but a young lad in my 20’s, I put a bunch on my first s-type, a blackie style Peavey Predator. One of the biggest stickers on it was for a particular ski area that I have since come to think are major a-holes for touting how green they are while also trying to gobble up more and more adjacent mountain backcountry, after telling the public they wouldn’t. So a few years back I used a hair dryer to pull all stickers from the guitar, save for one little metallic guy that I decided just had to stay.
I only sticker the back of my guitars - keeps the front presentable - kind of like a strat mullet?
While I'm not a fan of stickers, take a look at Helterskelton's Strat and Tele... Graffiti yellow, worn stickers, and as much Mojo as SRV's #1
There's a difference... you can't create Mojo... it just happens.
