The aftermarket Fender necks I’ve seen were all made in Mexico.

Seems legit to me. Wear in frets on first position only.

You can buy US made Fender replacement necks.

I won't take a guess if that's one. Somebody more knowledgable will be along.

I'll say that I haven't seen the Fender etching anywhere other than the heel before. As far as I know the etching is put in places not seen once assembled for necks and bodies.

Leo just pointing out that there's minimal wear on first few frets. (First position)

Yeah. The frets look really good on this neck.

I honestly don't know enough about these to have a real opinion.

The current replacement neck offerings have serial numbers, where it was made and the laser on the heel. But that doesn't mean they didn't start out doing it different and then changed.

@Guitarmageddon likely knows exactly what this is. Seeing another the same is a good thing.

Until recently (last few years) I had thought replacement necks were exactly that. Replacement necks. If there was an issue with your neck you could arrange for a replacement but you couldn't just buy a legit new Fender neck.

I only noticed you could buy new necks a couple years ago. Though it's probably been like that for longer, I just wasn't looking.

In the link provided above for the 62 the seller mentions a brief period Fender sold new necks in the early 2000's. I'm surprised the only indication is the etching. Well, it's Fender so not that surprised.

Anyway, I learned a new thing.

Are you referring to my Performer neck or the OP's 50's style neck in question?

My Performer neck is legit for sure, the OP's neck seems it is too.
