    It's a 2005 MIM Classic 50's.
The neck will soon be replaced with a allparts SRO-FAT.

    Re: Strat Pic

Are those the '54 Custom Shop pups? If so how do you like them? Any probs with the middle pup not being RWRP?

    Here's my 60's CS Strat.

    Yes, CS 54s

    Not the Fat 54s.

I've never checked for 60 cps hum in the 2 and 4 PU positions.

I put the Custom Shop '54s in my 79 Strat and I loved 'em. They're mega smooth pickups. They have great chime and are really sweet. By that token, they won't be bluesy rockers. Think Buddy Holly not Buddy Guy. But that 4th position tone was fantastic.

But they were excellent at what they were made for chording and chimmy leads. I didn't notice any hum problems, but I never put them under some lights with a big amp on 10.

I did remove them from the guitar and put the '79 pickups back in. The 79's were stronger but not near as complex sounding. For my playing the CS 65's p'ups were the best of both worlds. But it's a to each his own kind of thing.

Thanks for the input Paul. The CS '54's sounds just like what I am looking for. The Fat 50's in my CS Relic covers the Blues territory just fine. I am building a "Blackie" partscaster and am looking for more chime, something different than what my CS Relic delivers. Thanks for the reply also ne4tt.

My 1989 Squier Stratocaster, "The veteran" I have since taken that tele neck off again and replaced it with a proper strat neck.

My early nineties Squier Japan strat, with a replacement neck (because I actually favor rosewood boards on non-humbucker strats) I finished the headstock in a matching shade of red. I even took the guitar to the shop where I bought the paint to make sure I got a matching shade. Nice guitar, very similar to "the veteran"

I ended up getting a mighty mite neck. It's not fat, but it's got a rosewood board and jumbo frets.

I don't know why but this guitar ROCKS much more than the other strat I have
