Sorry; should have thought that you had already checked into that. I suspect you would likely gain $200 in sale price by changing them (getting say $1,100 instead of $900 around here), netting $130 for taking time to make the change.

You can replace the missing part of the thumbscrew alone. I did that once on mine when it fell off. Got it on ebay for $7.

From my limited knowledge, it seems around $1,000 is about right for the Strat Plus. There is a cult following for Lace Sensors, but not widespread appreciation.

Thanks. I don't think those will fit, they changed the threads I think, in the early 90's. Mine's a 1989.

I know! They probably removed some fraction of a millimeter to get an even number that satisfied some engineer's sense of order.

I ordered the new tuners, $100 if I didn't want the F logo on the back...

Someone wanted to trade a mongrel that they tried to pass off as a Charvel for it, started by saying "like yours, mine's also almost impossible to sell". Yeah, great opening line dude...

New tuners arrived. Unfortunately they are F stamped, which they were not on the photo. I guess I dhould have known since they had a Fender part number. Maybe I should have gone for the more expensive Schallers that I think are identical to the originals except for the S stamp on the thumb wheel. The original Schallers had flat wheels with no logo. Oh well! At least these have the advantage that you have to try very, very hard if you want to loose the thumb wheels.

This was a lot tougher than expected. Now advertised for $800 but only got one low offer and two crappy trade deals

It’s a beautiful strat, but with the lace pickups it’s going to be a reduced market. I’ve never actually played that pickup style to be honest. Hold the line, you’ll find someone.

I just picked up an ‘84 mij squier, and the first thing I did was replace the weird bladed pickup and strat size humbucker that someone put in it with single coils, because a. I like the sound better and B. If I sell it, people will buy it more readily.

Couple of random pickups and cleanup needed (pic from the seller)

New set of used cs ‘69’s that I haggled down to $50. I do wish it had aged covers, but oh well.

    Nice!

I have a single coil sized rail humbicker in the bridge position in a tele. It sounds great there and I'm no fan of humbuckers.

The Lace sensors sound great to me, kind of compressed and focused.

I’m sure! It’s a common enough mod, just not my taste.

I’d love to try out the lace sensors one of these days. They were in a bunch of killer guitars and sig models back in the day.

Ah, my tele actually came stock with the rail humbucker.

You should definitely try the Lace Sensors :)

Hey, I think you could get 1100 for it if not in a hurry to sale it, but as much as I love the Strat I would have to say the SG is my second favorite guitar to play. I would love to have another one. But anyways good luck

    No interest even for $700. I guess it's a keeper then :D
