I just purchased a Strat with serial number N9 plus 7 more digits, I haven’t found anywhere on web to help id one with 7 digits after the N9

Is the "Fender" logo on the headstock the spaghetti font or is it the older thicker font? If it is spaghetti, then your guitar is a late 90's strat, most likely a 1999 model. If it is the other style, your guitar is from 1990-1991 or so....

EDIT: after looking at photos of guitars, N9 + 7 additional digits seems to be to many....

show us some pics of the guitar and the serial number....

Agreed that we need photos - N9 plus 7 digits seems to be 1 digit too many.

Ok! Don’t beat me up on this. Here’s the ‘rest of the story’. I made a down payment on a Strat at a guitar store close to me yesterday afternoon, I only had $200 in my pocket at the time so told the owner I’d be back tomorrow and pick it up. Are you with me? He wrote me out a receipt with all the info about the sales ticket. When I got home I thought I’d look up some numbers. Here’s where you come in. I got online and proceeded to check the numbers and behold there were no numbers starting with N9 and 7 numbers after that so I found this forum for help. The next day. I went to shop to get the Strat and found out ‘he’ (THE owner) put down a 9 after the N. It’s actually a N3 with 6 more numbers. Ha! I told the owner when I went in that the serial number he gave me was a stolen guitar, THAT GOT HIS ATTENTION! Thanks for all your input.

Well we still don't know if it's legit or fake without you giving us photos......so we're no further ahead still......

Fender database (which is iffy that far back) shows that SN as being a "FEND DLX STRAT PLUS MP ATB"
