There's talk again over at TDPRI about Strat-Talk forum being slow-loading...again! I've experienced this in the past. I strongly suspect this forum is making a merger with AOL.

You've experienced this in the past? I am experiencing it every day on a regular basis. For the past few months this site has been slow as molasses, and completely crashes, for at least a few minutes, a couple of times per day.

I don't know why, but TDPRI does not seem to have the same problem.

Also TDPRI does not have a problem making fun of people who play Stratocasters.:(

It has been an issue at times and very recently too. Maybe we need to install turbo servers. ;)

I see tons of posts about Strats over there. There are quite a few Strat Talkers over there as well.

I thought it had merged with a glacier. 20 minutes offline again just now...

TDPRI is on a different server. Strat-Talk and Squier-Talk appear to be on the same one, though Squier-Talk suffers much less.

It is Strat Talk's sister site for Teles. It's like Tele Talk. It has been around longer than Strat Talk.

Telecaster forum...not sure what all that alphabet soup stands for...

But I haven't noticed any particular difficulties with this site loading. But then I compute using a computer and use my phone mostly to make phone calls....

Yeah there was a period earlier where the site just wasn't happening.. 15 or so minutes.

Always figure one day it'll just be gone.. I'll wait a couple days, staring and refreshing in mute hopeless desperation. Waiting for that sweet sweet rush of the expected load that never comes. I'll start drinking heavily and yelling at passing pedestrians about the good old days. Smelling of stale smokes and booze eventually retreating to my fridge box under the bridge. Mutter to myself posts I'd have made if only I'd had the chance..

It's 2.30pm and this is the first time today that I have been able to get into ST. It's not usually as bad as that, but ST had also forgotten my login and I had to to it again.

This was one of the first things I noticed when I came back. The site has regular periods during a day where it simply doesn't load. It usually only lasts 5-10 minutes but it's frustrating. I don't recall this happening a few years back during Mouse v1.0

It's been going on quite some time, at least 2 years now. It was down completely for quite a while after the change of ownership and has never been right since.

It's a great resource. People there are (or at least were, when I visited) very nice. I got some great deals on some pickups from their classifieds section, and they were really helpful with questions.

It may be a smoke free facility so they may leave, drive around town and burn one then come back and start it up again; just saying.:whistling:
