Lol. I came to Strat talk as a backup for TDPRI, in case I ever got tired of Telecasters.

Hmmm. From here, it was unresolvable. DNS didn't know what the domain name was.

You just picked a bad time to pop in. It’s been particularly bad (off and on) for the last week or two. It’s not like it was a couple of years ago where it would be offline for an out or two at a stretch.

I haven’t had a DNS problem myself. I’ve had the server took too long to respond errors. I think it’s just a matter of running on inadequate hardware. Not enough hard disk for the temp files and/or not enough ram. Maybe not enough CPU but that’s unlikely.

And Turbo was on a button. I’m not sure anyone would not press the button and just glue it on.

I think the server needs to be upgraded. The 12at7 vacuum tubes aren't up to the task anymore. 12ax7's have more gain, and that might solve the problem.

Shoot.....I remember the Commodore 64. My first experience with compact desk top computers was around 1980. An Apple III with a 10 meg hard drive and probably 32k of RAM. It wasn't much more than a glorified filing cabinet with an onboard word processor.

Actually with all the STUPID thread posts about everything but Strats or Guitars (like do you carry a knife?), maybe it's time this Forum fold up and shut down.

What are the Moderators doing instead of MODERATING .... picking their noses and watching I Love Lucy reruns?

I used to have a hard time with ST but it's been pretty stable for awhile now. When it was really bad I did start going to TDPRI a lot more

I'm relatively new here, but I've never had this site act slow.

Well stick around and you might find some flair-ups. It happens from time to time I guess in peak hours or so? It has to do with the server but I'm no computer expert.
