I don't know?
Gratulations. I found the fit and finish of these very good. And the push pull switch adds more flavor to it's voice. I had a hard time choosing between the 3 finishes and that one is just awesome.
Thanks. You're partially responsible you know.
I am a luddite and a minimalist, so when I came over to Fender from The Dark Side, I assumed that the tele was for me, and started there. However, for me, the strat is really just a tele with logical functional updates and better ergonomics, and the strat is where it is at.
The Tele was the gateway for me too. I had a Strat in the early 90’s but didn’t get it. I built a Tele about 5 or 6 years ago and really liked the simplicity of it. It wasn’t long afterwards that I picked up another Strat, then another, and another.
To me it’s just the perfect shape, size and weight and when you play a melody on it, there’s no hiding your playing like there is on a Les Paul or 335, etc... the single coils bare all. I find the same thing with a Tele. You sound like you.
Yes, thought it was me. Seemed like he was answering someone’s question, but he is OP. But the question he was answering has been debated since 1954. OK, my first post here also as I just rejoined the Strat ranks.
Tele was my gateway drug, too. Still hit on that pipe occasionally. Like the subtle but very present differences between the two.
Yes! This is why, once I bought a strat, I could not stop!
When I play an LP or 335, I sound like an LP or a 335!
