Solitude can be good and bad. In my case it is more bad than good.

Take care and treasure your wife upon her return.

Mine was gone three weeks taking care of out of state family a month ago.

As I always say, my wife is worth more than money.

Sometimes my wife goes on short trips for work. The first day I play as much guitar as I want. I watch all the tv shows she doesn't like and drink all the beer I want. The next day, I'm ready for her to come back.

Just guessing but by the looks of Mrs Lonn I suspect all will be well when that aircraft lands, maybe some little treats from the Mother land too!

@Lonn - Sorry for your loss, my condolences. It's definitely harder to deal with all that stuff alone, so glad your wife is going to be there to help right the emotional ship.

@Baelzebub - Sorry to hear about your partner, I hope everything works out perfectly.

Thanks for all the kind words folks. I’m sitting here at O’Hare in Chicago awaiting her flight, should be about another hour.

If my wife of 50 years were to leave me alone for a 3 weeks it would be great...for about a day and a half.

    Hang in there man.

Be well Lonn. Covid and all that goes with it has messed with peoples minds and lifestyles more than we know.

From June 2014 through Sep 2019, my wife had a series of field assignments to Alaska each lasting anywhere from 8 to 16 months, with only 6-8 months home in between. During her absence it was just me, our two dogs, and our cat. I went up to AK many times for 6-10 day visits, and as soon as I retired in May 2019 I packed up the dogs and went to Alaska for the entire Summer with her, having our nephew stay at our house to watch the cat. She would come home for Christmas or other short term visits while on assignment. But it was very difficult emotionally for me as I don't like to go out anywhere alone, and don't frequent bars. If I hadn't been still working, and had continually nice Florida weather (for the most part), it would have been worse. Playing guitar at home alone, or watching TV didn't make it any better. You'll be fine, I guarantee , but I know how you feel.

Hang in there Lonn, you've had a tough haul recently and having the wife gone was the opposite of what you needed. But it's going to get better. Everyone here on ST is with you in spirit. TP

Mos' sad to hear about your brother, sir. Doubly tough to be alone after a loss.

The reunion will be sweet indeed.

    Hang tough, Bud.

Condolences to you & your family (regarding your brother). I'm sorry to hear about that. I've had a hard time being lonely after getting divorced last year, so I understand being alone and lonely.

Thanks for sharing, brother. Sometimes, that's all it takes. Hope you're doing better this morning. So, so sorry for your loss.

I'm dealing with my own loss, as well. Personally, I don't handle this so well ever since my daughters been gone. :(

Thanks again for all the kind words. Today my wife is home, the sun is out, I'm out on the deck enjoying the sunshine and some coffee as well as the unlimited wit of the ST crowd. OK I made that past part up. :p Back to your regularly scheduled programming.
