That sugar drive is nice! Set a bit louder than parity volume, on an amp just at breakup! Sounds divine through a neck pickup

Holy Mother of G0D though that Tumnus is even better!!! Dilemma now as to which one I have as my solo drive

I have both and really go back and forth between them. The Sugar drive has more gain earlier on the dial but the Tumnus stays cleaner longer. I usually go with the Tumnus but they are 1a and 1b truthfully

I admire the way your pedals are attached. No worn out Velcro glue on those babies.

The Tumnus makes my SD1 actually usable. When into the distortion, I get easier harmonics like 80s leads or something. Also, rolling off my strat's tone control gives me an amazing sort of attack, where the tube screamer gets kind of muddy. I keep finding things this pedal is great for. Begining to think it's one of the best purchases I've made.

Tumnus has to be one of the most versatile pedals made. It an always-on pedal in my rig

have my eyes on the Tumnus

Thinking about replacing my FD2 (basically dialed in as TS) as the booster for my Timmy. What are your experiences with Tumnus stacking?

Your post makes me wish I hadn't given mine to a friend in another state.

I regret that I gave mine away without testing it with a live band.

Liked the Tummnus deluxe, love the RYRA but probably gonna buy the J Rockett Jeff Archer cause I think JB either breathed on each pedal or they found the magic unicorn and got it to pee on the diodes at the right phase of the moon.

Comes alive when I send my Sugar Drive INTO it even more than when it's used on its own. Personally I stack it at the end of the OD stack, better harmonics imho.

Agreed. It took me awhile to find it's sweet spots for me but now it's another need to have pedal just like my clean boost. Those two also pair very well. If I add another OD pedal to them it's somewhat like a cascading gain structure.

I actually have the Tumnus Deluxe and if I could only have one OD pedal I could make due with it and the clean boost before it.

As luck will have it, someone on TGP is trading me one of my old Whammy IV that has been collecting dust.

So this is where I ended up..

    DA0B843D-62FB-47E2-ACCF-AD0CD4679E36.jpeg

Amp just on breakup. Sugar drive set for a crunch. Unity volume. Tumnus set for lead, higher volume.

I have the same setup and decided same as you. MXR was a little dark behind the Tumnus which when reversed in order brightens it up. A Klon/Klone breathes life into everything.

I sometimes feed my Tumnus into my AM TS9, which gives me great pinched harmonics in a lead. Also I love the pick attack. I use the TS alot with finger picking like Dire Straits or something like that. Something about Tumnus gets me a bit closer to fatter leads when I need them. I do run mine full out, I'm afraid, for the sound of the pedal than as a boost.
