How much CA glue does that take?
The neck has about an ounce of thin C/A rubbed on it. It took about 8 coats or so to build it up. The body, also finished the same way, has about 2 ounces. Then i sanded it to 3000 grit and polished then waxed it. All of it was done by hand.
Apply the C/A with paper towels (folded in quarters). Also be in a very well ventilated area because it is a nasty chemical reaction. The paper towels will start smoking then you start to come and your eyes will burn. Also, let it naturally dry. Do not use an activator because it will turn white and get cloudy. It will dry fairly quickly anyway.
I got the idea from watching videos of wood turning on YouTube when they would finish something like a pen or bowl. Instead of spinning it on the lathe, I rubbed it on then had to do the extra steps to smooth it out. It's really cool in that it feels like a poly finish but doesn't get sticky at all and is only about 1/3 as thick. If i excellent want to take it off... acetone bath.

The 5 positions are
1. Bridge
2. Bridge/Neck (out of phase)
3. Bridge/Neck (parallel)
4. Bridge/Neck (in series)
5. Neck
It's a very versatile guitar for sure and the only Tele that I've been able to get on with.

Just an FYI: I have a similarly wired guitar using DPDT's. I find that out of phase is best if it's also in serial mode. Out of phase by itself is kind of weak but combined with serial it has a nice kick. I don't know if that's possible with a five way switch.

True it does get weak in parallel. I forgot to type that it is in series out of phase. It's a cool position with a very unique sound. Kind of like a wah pedal partially cocked. It really cuts through.
I also used the same switching on my 2P90 strat.

Yep. Kind of the Mark K cocked wah sound. Also great for funk. But mostly, like you said, it just cuts through well. Sounds a little harsh by itself but nice in a mix.

You don't find the p90's way too dark in series? I was thinking of trying that.

Can't help with the odd thin/distorted effect in the uppermost range of your volume pot.
Might be contamination - have you tried cleaning the pot with Deoxit?

Single tone pot wiring is very simple, you just connect the tone pot to the first or middle lug of the volume pot, as StratUp advised earlier in the thread.

I have a Meck Strelecaster myself. It's HSS and the switching is standard Strat 5-way. Have been thinking about rewiring it for master tone plus a 4-way rotary for the humbucker to give me series, parallel, series-out-of-phase, or inner coil only.

Howdy: I think your right about the TONE control wired to the switch! ...not to the top lug on the volume!!!..wiring the tone to the volume lug turns the tone control into a volume control.....Been doing this a few days now.....Problem is i don't know how to wire this switch...I ordered a new switch that i can find a wire diagram for it......Thanks for the info on tone to switch wiring...Tuco
.

I generally only use a 4-way on a Tele for a stealth LP.

Here are a few 5-way Teles. I use a Arlo cocked wah circuit on an HH guitar I have.

That wood is Birdseye Maple. C/A glue is Cyanoacrylate, also known as Super Glue.

Howdy: Thanks, tried that .....causes the tone to be a volume control......new pots and jack ...i guess i will try this wiring set up .when i get the new switch ..like the diagram.......that is my only guess..Tuco

I use that on all my Strats. It does NOT cause the tone control to act as a volume control.
