I was under the impression — already, but also from this documentary — that a bunch of these songs predate the Get Back session at least in some skeleton form.

Plenty of Lennon songs say Lennon/ McCartney that Paul had nothing to do with.

Either way, the joint credit thing is actually mentioned in passing at one instance and then at another point Paul mentioned that the two didn't write together anymore since they don't see each other as much.

The John/Paul thing is pretty deep seated for the two of them you can tell. They definitely decided VERY early on the Lennon/McCartney brand, and resolutely stuck to it.

You can really see that they love each other in my view. See how cringingly tolerant Paul is of John constantly goofing off on songs (which he does ALL the time), compared to how intolerant he is of George being slow to get things.

I always noticed it in this video from earlier - watch John and Paul in the first 20 seconds of the clip. John hamming it up for the camera and Paul seeming to enjoy it. George is just concentrating really hard - a one point around 1:30 visibly counting time.

Finished watching it last night and I definitely feel like I know them all better. I think my biggest revelation was how goofy Lennon was, like a teenager, very funny and sometimes tiresome. I Always imagined him being more serious in the later band years. I always new Ringo was cool but man he was so laid back and patient and funny, got to love him. It was amazing to see how after all the unorganized f ing off when they got on the roof to perform they were the great Beatles again.

I agree that John and Paul were buddies but I don't think you can tell much from that promo video. They were all posing. I don't think George was concentrating on anything except what would be a good pose.

Getting more into it, it's good to see them all getting into proper jam sessions and playing through the kinks rather than talking through them. There's something special about watching them joking and smiling at each other while playing.

Is George using a lot of envelope filtering? I never noticed that before.

Love seeing George strum that SJ-200.

George had a Leslie cabinet. You can see it being wheeled in at one point in episode 1.

Definitely sounds like he has a wah-wah going as well. I haven't seen it - I'm only through episode 1.

Doesn't sound like he's got it dialed in yet

I never really dug the Beatles growing up in the time of early Rush, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Maiden, Judas Priest, etc. They were kind of pop'ish and then mushy. Though I would not turn it off it was not my focus.

This docuseries is really enjoyable and shows just how talented these dudes were. Newfound respect for these boys. Love how Billy Preston just fit right in, what a talent he is as well. Halfway through 3rd part, would watch more if it was available. I find myself loving these guys and there personalities.

I loved it when John and Paul sang an entire take of On Our Way Back Home with clenched teeth and silly accents. Lennon's "stuck" grin was especially haunting and hilarious. :D

Pretty sure the contacts would be wiper disks similar to potentiometers.

I bet that exercises like that make the right take even easier to obtain. That's probably one reason why they did it.
