I have (in my opinion) upgraded my Gibsons since my last post on this thread in 2016. My R8 is now Ebony and I added a second in a special run color called “Page 85 Burst” from Dave’s.

    Nice :)

I just got a new LP. You'd think they could at least throw a decent strap in. That case looks sharp though

Not sure why the Ebony R8 didn’t show up.

Seeing as my old pics are dead (thanks Photobucket), and the lineup has changed a bit... here's a new set.

    – 2012 Memphis 335 Dot neck, 57 Classics
    – 2012 ES-330 '59 VOS
    – 2016 ES-275, MHS Custombuckers

The first two are long-timers. The 275 surprised me. I bought it on a lark when Henry J was dumping stuff, on his way out. At 70% off MAP, I had to buy something. It's fully hollow, a bit thicker than the 330. It sounds nothing like the 330 (of course, P90s vs humbuckers), and nothing like a 175. It reminds me most of Gretsch. Bright, snappy, lively. I dunno, maybe I'm supposed to play jazz on it. I like it for rockabilly!

Apologies for slipping in a Collings, but this 2008 City Limits is MY Les Paul. I had sold my LP Standard and was shopping for an R8 when I came across it. The stock Lollars were too wiry and bright for my taste. I have Throbaks in it, and they sound perfect, to me. It's still bright and snappy, but with a smooth throatiness. No nasal. No mud.

I’ve owned my 2012 Gibson Les Paul Traditional (Desert Burst) the longest of any of my current guitars. I love the big 50’s neck and the ‘57 pickups.

Cheater! :D Gorgeous guitar though. Finest “large-ish” boutique builder in the marketplace right now, in my opinion.
