Great topic and it could go on for days...I’ll just have to check in and see what other videos have been posted. I’d go with U2 and Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi just because they came out of the 80’s. Still like the breakfast club. And Strats4me. GO RAMS!!!

This got MTV and radio play, therefore qualifies as "mainstream".

I didn't listen to too much in the eighties...
I spent an enormous amount of time on the scooter....
    BUt
Van Halen had a song somewhere in there....
The intro sounded like Fueler pushing down....
Do you know the song I'm thinking???

Not mainstream but damn well should be.

Best two songs of the 80s in one great movie

Mid 70’s for me. When Fullbacks used to be part of the running game. Lived in KY and Florida, never been to Cali either. When I was a kid I thought they had the coolest helmets. And they DO when it’s the classic blue and yellow

Very few of the band I like flourished during the 80's. Lots of good music, but I scan down the list and music I find interesting has all but disappeared. I think that's when I started focusing on classical and jazz to expand my mind. Bands like Pink Floyd and Yes already had their best work behind them. Nothing says 80s rock more than 2m2m

Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes To Midnight

And of course, the original version:

What does it say about me that most of these songs I hate? LOL! The rest I have, but never listen to anymore because they are played waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much on the radio. :)

Radio station playlists...killing songs for me since 1968. I have fled to sports talk radio if I have to listen to something over the air. Otherwise, it is mixes I rip up for the car.

Pure cheese, but I still love it!

Believe me, there's more where this came from. I have Europe's entire back catalog at my disposal. :D

To be fair, only two of their albums qualify for this this thread. All the others are either not mainstream (first two albums), not '80s (Prisoners In Paradise, released '92), or neither (anything post-2004 reunion). All are great albums though, and they're still epic live too.

It straddles 79/80. If Another Brick In The Wall counts so should this.

Cult of Personality is a great forgotten song by a really good forgotten band.

Mainstream, eh? That cuts out 90% of my 80's music.
    How about this guy?

It's either that or something from Bowie's Let's dance album.

One of the good things that came out of MTV: animation.
