Time to find out if this thread can be resuscitated... recorded this last night, turned out to be a little harder than I thought.

That was beautiful @StratMike10. I've said it a million times but I'm so envious of your finger picking prowess. That's probably in my LZ top ten! I love the sound of your Taylor as well. Even if this thread slows down a bit, any time I do a LZ cover it's going here. I have another in mind but it'll take a little bit.

@gofmusic Sounds pretty damn good to me. Well done to you and your friends.

Awesome, Mike. That one always pop's in my head when I think LZ. I was going to do that one too, but decided it was time to really tackle Bron-Yr-Aur instead. Sweet.

Hey! This thread is not over!
I'm home alone tonight. This is the kind of craziness I get up to. Recording a sweet little love song.

I'll say it again. Most people here play better than me. At least the ones posting clips.

Here's another log on the fire...

While this album may be polarizing for some older LZ fans, it's special for me as it's the first and only LZ album I bought when it was first released (CODA doesn't count). For those not aware, this is a rare instance of Page using a Strat. Unfortunately I am not but I am splitting the bucker :D

For kicks, check out the live at Knebworth version of this song on YouTube. I love Jimmy Page but his use of the bar is not far off from a monkey dragging a guitar by the whammy bar. It could be that he was a Les Paul guy for too long or it could be that he was deep in a heroin fugue...perhaps both. Either way, that particular video is amusing.

Anyhow, this is using one of those Karaoke-version tracks. The singer does a decent job mimicking Plant but the keyboards aren't quite up to JPJ standards.
