Boyo is in Austin. I am in Dallas. Boyo needs hihats STAT. Highhats are in another city in Dallas metro area. So......I am supposed to take my money, got to GC get some hats tomorrow, then on Saturday or Sunday, drive to meet Boyo half way between Austin and Dallas.

Does any of this sound even vaguely rational???

I'll quote my grandfather to my father when I was asking for yet an other Skateboard as i kept shattering them to pieces

"When you were making him, does knowing he would have brought that request would have been a deal breaker? No? Let's go then."

Is there any reason these couldn't be ordered online and shipped overnight? The cost of shipping would likely be cheaper than the gas/tolls of your drive.

......but possibly less interesting. He needs his cymbals quickly and this is the longest we have ever been apart.

Well in that case, rationality has little to do with it. You want to see your boy. Go!

Austin being known for it's music prolly has high hats there you could purchase for him. But I get the longest ever apart thing...

He is there and in a college music program and he knows my ways. He would have found them if they are there. He just sent me a list of other drum stuff he needs. Should have made him play piccolo.

I can't believe you're making him drive all that way! Shocked and appalled and then shocked some more I tell ya!

Actually, I'd be thinking about spending the weekend in Austin and checking out some music. :)

This quest is sandwiched between rehearsals for Beethoven's Baztards. Only 16 days tell we have to perform.

Thank goodness my son is in jazzy boy school. Small kits, few cymbals...but the cymbals have to be nice.

That's way cool he's studying at the college level. And way cool you're getting them for him.
