I'm giving up on the show. Tried to watch the new episodes and I couldn't stay awake. Just not interesting any more to me. The Whisperers ruined it.

I've always thought that the way they portrayed antagonist individuals or groups was weird.. From the early seasons with the Governor, to the cannibals, the junkyard people to the whole we are Negan thing and the whisperers it just always seemed like it was just being a hair over cooked.

    But.

Then I got to thinking that what they are doing is real-life acting the styles and characters from a comic. After all its a zombie filled post apocalyptic world with some weird shadow government crap going on, being run in the most tribal of ways on a local level. All the stories unfold with only the information that you would have if you were in the main group. So all that weirdness and strangeness starts to make sense if you accept that you are really an NPC in the ongoing drama.

I've wavered on continuing with it a number of times, but in the end I keep respawning in it every season. :)

It's gone on too long to put it away now.
You/ I just have to see how it ends. Even though I've read the comic, I still am interested in how it plays out on screen.

The show has followed the books mostly but they also twist certain things for whatever reason. There biggest mistake was killing Andrea. Not that they didn’t work around it but she was such a important character in the books. Now what they did with Carol is good cause she gives up and lets herself get bit in the books so she can die. Killing Carl didn’t make much sense either. And the Governor in the books was much more evil and scary then the one on TV. But then again so is Negan. Now the guy that’s not even in the books Darryl is the star? The show has just lost a lot of its main characters and with that it’s steam. But I still watch it hoping for a good episode which is far and few in between.

The Dixon brothers were TV additions to the show. Neither one was supposed to live more then a episode or three. But the show runners like them and kept them around. An Darryl became the fan favorite of the show. I always thought of him as the Maverick or Paladin of the show. Someone that could do anything because he wasn’t in the books... and Merle well come on who doesn’t love seeing Michael Rooker be a bad ass? He’s so good at it. Beside nobody thought the show would be a hit... they only made 6 episodes for the first season cause they figured nobody or very few people would watch a Zombie show on prime time Sunday night television. But it was a huge hit and they had to back pedal and keep it going.

The Whisperers did it for me (meaning turned me off). The most unlikely group of villians in the whole series. How did they survive that awful winter a couple of seasons ago? How are they fed (they have no crops or apparent food source). How does Alpha and Beta by themselves keep the whole group together, when every other group we have seen has a very developed chain of command and organizational structure. It's a mob of people who live in the woods that don't appear to have any verbal communications, no long distance comm, food sources, training in offensive or defensive tactics or weaponry, and have no source of protection (such as buildings or fences)...yet are the toughest adversaries of the whole series.

Why wasn't Carroll in the shed when Negan killed Alpha? That would have been epic and very satisfying to have let Carroll kill her.

I guess they wanted it like the comic.
All that stuff Carol put the group through going after Alpha seems pointless or even more questionable now.

I stopped watching "Walking Dead" around season 5. Every episode became the same.

    I thought I wouldn't get into tonight's episode knowing what I knew.
    It was pretty well done.
    Left more questions.
That was a hell of a large group at the end.

Found out earlier in the week that the last episode of the season will not air as scheduled because of delays in final editing/production due to the virus.
    Ironic huh?

Last night's episode had just enough interesting elements to give it a 8 out of 10.
And a new character introduced as well.

I enjoyed it a lot more than the last one

that area at the end was interesting. Not sure if that's the commonwealth because we're not getting to where i left off in the comics but I liked it.
