It would be my recently acquired EC Strat (pictured in my avatar).
Although of the remaining 19 guitars I own, it would be very difficult to part with my '74 Martin D18 and my PRS S2 Custom 22 semihollow...

There's no way I could deal with just one.

The last time I only had one guitar was 1973. After that, the number held steady between 3 to 5 for many years. Then, starting around 1998, they started multiplying like bunnies.

That's easy. Has to be a Tele or Tele type. If has to be one I own now it would be my G&L ASAT based mainly on it's versatility.

    Strat. Cuz of the versatility.

But don't tell my Les Paul.

    Strat.

    Sounds and plays great stock.

    Most comfortable.

Infinitely mod-able to your personal tastes.

Hmm...assuming we're talking about the standard versions of each model, I'd go Les Paul if nothing more than the shorter scale length and humbuckers. Seems a little more fit for hard rock/metal than the other two. If you are just talking about body shapes, I'd go for a super strat.

If I answered this I'd just have to come back and edit it a hundred times.

A Strat, for it's amazing versatility. I do love Teles, but you said just one. The one that I have would be fine.

If I had to start again and had to buy one guitar it would probably be a strat.
If my house was on fire I’d grab my cat and this on the way out...

I don't currently have a Tele or LP.
I have more than one Stratocaster.
    Hopeully this answers the question.

BTW- I also have several Hagstroms and SGs, and a V.
Still no interest in another LP.
Probably a Tele in the future ...

I LOVE GUITARS!! I currently have 8, including a couple of Les Pauls and a vintage '67 Rickenbacker. However, if I could only have one - it would be a Strat - not even necessarily my CS '59 Strat, which I love - I just think that although I prefer using a Gibson or Ric for certain tihngs, I can get it all done on a Strat, if I have to and I can't say the same about the others.

To answer the OPs question it would be my 53 blackguard.

But outside the scope of the question its my 62 SG Special.

if I could only have one guitar it would be my J45. If it had to be electric it would be my PV64 Tele. But if I could choose anything I'd probably take one of those acoustasonic tele's just for the all-round versatility, or a PRS with a piezo Bridge

Out of these 3 I would pick my Strat easily.

However, a Gretsch Duo Jet is THE one. After the pickups were rewound I found my sound.

Does a Tele Thin Line count. Why is it has its own sound compared to any of the others you listed.
