I know that some Dr Z, Matchless, and maybe Trainwreck are based on Vox’s.
Not sure about Hiwatt…they’ve been around a long time, so they may be their own thing.
They’re all out of my price range, but I know my favorite settings on Guitar Rig 5 are based around the Hiwatt100.

Actually MOST tube amps in existence are based on 1950s Tube application documentation. RCA etc.I have copies of RCA books I'm pretty sure Leo Fender used them in Design. Marshall used Fender design and substituted parts availablein England, creating a different sound. withe different impedance etc.

Not just based on. Cloned. The JTM45 is a 5f6a circuit. :)

Most amps are based on circuits from the RCA tube manual and Western Electric circuits.

    Boogies started as modified Princetons.

    Dr Z...modified Vox.

    Trainwreck ...modified Vox.

    Matchless....modified Vox.

    Park...Marshall.

They all came from somewhere else.

Look at Western Electric PA stuff and film. Radio.

There's nothing new under the sun. ;)

That Mintons album is a killer. Christian would play in BG's band during the day and be at Mintons Playhouse at night, playing with Diz and Monk...

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think most actual Dumble's, made by the guy, are basically modded Fender Twin circuits.

Covered in plastic goop, so he could try to hide what he did.

As another posted above, there really is nothing new under the sun when it comes to tube amps.

Just variations of old circuits. Some, very successful variations.

    Others down right plagiarized.

Dumbles are actually modeled after cheaply made pocket transistor radios - the tubes and transformers don’t do anything (they’re just for looks).

Total parts costs (including S&H) = $10 bucks...
