made themselves at home on my lap. i had to use the bathroom.... they wouldnt move. what was i to do? i thought about just peeing in my pants. but i moved them. what would you have done?
They probably never sleep in your lap, right? Only when there is something to do. Cats!...rulers of the universe! I have three former orphans that generously allow me to share (and pay for) space with them.
I can relate man, Winston pulls that s all the time. I have nothing particular to do? He's off snoozing somewhere. I'm working from home and the boss is on my azz to get something done? Perfect time to sit on the laptop!
well, since they are feral, yeah, they never have slept in my lap before. they only seem to get in my lap if they sense i need to urinate.
So our cat - Olive the Indolent - lies on Mrs Boardblues each evening. There's a correct setup, which if not adhered to brings indignant meowing. She has a special blanket - a masai one i got from backpacking around Africa, which i prized until the wife decided it was now mog blanket. And then they settle. At that point, my evening is not my own - "Mike, can you get me a drink/my phone/ my book/ some chocolate, as i don't want to disturb the cat...." Le sigh...
Feral...mine was too...I would have just peed and worried about it later....I mean, who's going to know anyway.
My wife and I have 8 of the little children living with us. We used to rescue abandoned cats and dogs, get their shots and neutering...whatever they needed and then get them adopted out to good homes. Over the last 11 years we (wife mostly) have placed over 100 cats and a few pups. Some of them have health issues or ptsd and nobody wanted that responsibility and they stayed home with us. We have the 8 house cats and then there are 2 that tested positive for FIV (feline immuno virus) that can't be around other cats. They live in a 10x12 cabin beside the house. It has a window, air conditioner, heater, TV and radio and I get out there at least 3 - 4 times a day for feeding, visiting and pets. Thankfully, they get along great with each other...it's not an ideal living situation, but no one wants to adopt them. All our kids are indoor only, since we live in Arizona and it's been 110 and over a lot (life in H- E- double hockey sticks). We love cats...what else can one do?
they're probably still a little grumpy about international dog day...might take a few days for them to recover
My cat CJ would be the first to remind you that every time you disturb a cat resting on your lap, your karma goes down.
Years ago we had a chihuahua named taco who would pester/affection kiss me like that. One day my middle daughter Becky says to me "Hey dad, you know why taco is constantly licking his butt?... To get the taste of your face out of his mouth".
