I don’t know enough about Les Paul’s, but typically if it’s too good to be true, it is.
And the whole “I don’t need it anymore,” just makes me even more weary.

    Looks gud to me
Lower bout maybe suspect but might be the pic angle
Never saw that jack but apparently they were used 08-ish
    No Case?
Missing case is always a flag on a higher end guitar
Other than that i would take a drive if the $ was right

Cutaway looks wonky and I've never seen a Dimarzio Shockwave input jack without single coils

It comes up as being made in Nashville, March of 2011.

    It looks legit.

That is an odd output jack.

No case, maybe the original owner got a deal without one. Maybe this owner bought it off someone in need of quick cash.

    I could be stolen.

It could be a Classic or similar with a different truss rod cover.

I see no red flags. I want to say it's legit, but that price does seem too good to be true.

It’s legit. Gibson used Neutrik locking jacks for a year or two back then.
I see no red flags besides the price being unreal.

That's what I'm saying. The guitar in the pics is legit, so if this is not some kind of scam, that is a killer deal.

The price being unreal is the biggest thing. No case, it could be stolen. That’s my guess at least.

Maybe I'll try to see if they'll meet up so I can look at it. It's a little more than an hour and a half drive from me though and that's a long ride for some bull sheet! However, that is not a long ride for a $900 LP Standard! Maybe I'll see if they'll meet halfway.

Find a local police station that has a C/L sale room and ask him to meet you there. It's unlikely someone with a known stolen or fake guitar will do that.

Folks at the mylespaul.com forum will be able to give you a heads up on legitimacy.

I don't know that I'd post the listing there... just the front of the headstock and the body perhaps. Someone will snipe it if you're not careful

He’s even accepting offers, doesn’t need it anymore. I’d ask to meet at a police station and see if he replies back.

I agree that the guitar is legit - I had one with those specs not long after they came out; I got it in late 2008 and it seems like I paid about $2K for it - I just can't remember exactly what deal I got on it from a local dealer in Louisville KY. I do remember it coming in a black Gibson case with white lining.

Good luck but as a few others have said: be careful. Definitely meet them in a safe place just in case this is a scam and they're waiting to mug you for the cash.

I just asked if they'd meet meet up at a halfway point between us. We'll see what response if any we get.

I don't think they'd try to mug me. I'm not a small fellow. And I always am armed and meet in a busy public place when doing a CL transaction.

Yeah it’s a tough one. I mean if it was stolen why would you post pics of the serial number. First place I’d check if my guitar was stolen would be CL.

At that price it COULD be a crazy deal. It looks so clean.

Not trying to hijack but for what it's worth I found a couple of photos my old 2008 - just for comparison of the shape sake. I kept this one for about 4 months; offed it and a PRS KL1812 (a Standard 24 wraptail done in Korina) for a different PRS limited edition. Wound up panic selling a cool EBMM as part of the deal because the damned LP just didn't sell:

It’s a Neutrk jack and the clear cover is fine. I had one of those about 10 years ago.

This seems like someone who will suggest a distance deal and a scam. They wont agree to meet in person. We just had a thread like this a week or two ago.

    Id reverse search the images?
