Well, you could have done that and saved a lot of money, but if your CS guitars are what you like, then rock on!

Which of these is an expensive guitar? It's not a trick. Two of them are. Two of them aren't. These are all improvisations. One take...one pass. No punching or comping.

So...which is which? One of them I bought for the same price as a bucket of chicken at KFC. LOL

Best isn't what I asked. Are you saying 2 and 4 are the expensive guitar?

4 & 3 were a bit of a tossup, but I have a feeling you’re gonna tell me that one of my choices was the kfc bucket guitar

    This thread is really humorous.

I’ve been recording at a pretty high level for over 20 years and I can make an inexpensive acoustic sound pretty good in a track, played by a proficient musician.

Look, the Beatles played Epiphone 335 Dots on many of their hits. Yesterday was recorded on an Epiphone Texan.

An electric guitar will sound different if you move a mic 1” in any direction on a speaker cone. On 2 different days, an acoustic can sound slightly different when you haven’t moved the mics at all.

In recording, if it sounds good, it is good.

I would still prefer the higher quality instrument that is easier to play, feels better and has more consistent build and tone.

@fezz parka , so none of those was a hello kitty acoustic guitar. What do I win? :p

    Naw. Certifiable Guitar Goober.

But a Casino or a 330 sounds nothing like a 335 or Sheraton.

    Semi hollow vs. Full hollow.
    P90s vs. Buckers.

    Apples and Oranges.
Or for the UK...Chalk and cheese.LOL

But looking at it in terms of a spectrum, there's a certain level of gear needed. I mean even Jeff Beck isn't gonna sound too great on a banjo with half it's body missing and only one rusty string lol.

Yeah, I know. I was just pullin' your chain.

It's not like I'm not a guitar goober too. The first thing I thought when I read that post was "they were Casinos, not dots". LOL

Since I'm tired and you stepped up...

You did pick the KFC Bucket guitar.

    And the "expensive" guitar. :)
