chambered body, Gibson's going to sue
I love this and I have no idea why. I think the finish actually pulls it all together.
If the body is made from basswood.... it logically follows that those are "bass-holes".
Yes! And the guy who wrote Since You've Been Gone...Back In The New York Groove...Something's Going On from Frida. Legendary singer-songwriter dude.
I'd have made all the holes the same size as the Jack plate ....jus' sayin'
What the heck is Steve Vai on now?
Mass Derision - Good name for a band.
Does it have holes in the headstock, or in the neck ?
Dot-holes, never seen that
If my memory ain’t failing he was in the Manfred Mann Earth band ...also.
The finish reminds me of one of those gumball machine rubber superballs we played with as kids!
Aside from the paint job, I think I like just about everything else about this guitar. I've actually thought about doing something similar, carving out massive holes in some type of design, for weight relief as well as uniqueness. I like that it's a 24 fret neck, too, I'm guessing Gibson scale? I could easily get along with a single humbucker. One other Q: How are those tone knobs wired, do they each have a function?
i'm guessing it is cast resin like those picks you have. probably heavy and needs the weight relief if it is.
the finish reminds me of the "dipped in a vat of swirled paint".
My mother always said, “if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all.
Don't think so...
Definitely a weight watchers signature guitar.
The first thing I thought of when I saw that guitar, is how easy it would be to make it some Land of the Rising Sun guitar. Make the non-hole spikes red, and lines all centered and coming through the fully red pickup, White body and pick guard of course. It may really be dispositioned for kamakazie neck dive though ....
Nice, only heard Rainbow and Ace versions.
You are correct .... boy he wrote a bunch of tunes I’ve heard over the years
I'd think it wouldn't be much different from a guitar with a chambered body to reduce weight.
Spinster Aunts have all the cool stuff! Mine did, too.
In the 80's, the middle aged were staying hip
